GREGORY SCHULTZ: Born 1977 in Boston, Ma
graduated from the University of Vermont class of 2000 with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Community Development & Applied Economics. While working as an Interaction Designer for The Pacific Coast Stock Exchange (PCX) in San Francisco, Greg completed Graphic Design coursework at the Academy of Art University. Working with cutting edge technology at the PCX to create a dynamic trading platform motivated Greg to pursue a degree in Industrial Design at the California College of the Arts (CCA) under Yves Béhar.
While obtaining his degree, Greg held a number of design internships, including one at the studio of Karim Rashid in New York City, Pottery Barn of San Francisco, and Goorin Brothers of San Francisco. Greg was recognized during IDSA & BusinessWeek’s 2008 ceremonies for his Bronze IDEA Award-winning concept “Peapod,” a prescription-based home ultrasound system. Currently, Greg is collaborating with Mark Nitzberg, Ph.D. and Allan Yuille, Ph.D., co-founders of Blindsight, to design products that use computer vision technology to aid Blind and Low Vision persons. Additionally, Greg is striving to bring “Peapod” to market.
